THE LISTENING ROOM

THE VILLAGE TABLE

Gather · Unplug · Vibe

A monthly listening experience where landmark albums become the starting point for conversation, reflection and connection.

June to November 2026

Six evenings · Jun – Nov 2026 · Doors 6:30 pm · Close 10:30 pm · Croydon, London

Not a gig.

Not a club night.

Not background music.

The Village Table is a monthly listening experience designed for people who want to engage with music differently.

Each session pairs landmark albums with guided conversation, communal listening and thoughtful discussion.

WHAT IS THE LISTENING ROOM

No distractions.

No rush.

Just music, ideas and connection.

Between the records.

Every Listening Room evening features a live performance between the two albums, a 30 to 45-minute set that reimagines works from the artists' catalogues

To Pimp a Butterfly

·

Mr Morale & The Big Steppers

Inward

Kendrick Lamar

A decade apart, both albums turn the same unflinching lens inward. Political fury and personal reckoning are two sides of the same search for self.

An evening with one artist, two eras, and no easy answers.

Channel Orange · Because the Internet

Wanting

Frank Ocean × Childish Gambino

Longing is rendered in different textures, one warm and elliptical, the other fractured and online.

Both albums map the private world of desire: what we reach for and what slips through, a conversation across media.

WHAT RECONNECT FEELS LIKE

From intimate listening rooms to summer gatherings, Reconnect brings people together through music, conversation and shared moments.

The Village Table is a Croydon original — a space built on coffee, culture and connection, and a genuine love for the community it sits inside.

It is not a venue that happens to host events. It is a place that understands what happens when people gather with intention, which is exactly why we chose it for The Listening Room.

The bar is open throughout the evening. Seated and standing areas across the room. Capacity is deliberately limited to eighty people, maximum

THE SPACE

A Seat at the Table · Untitled (Black Is)

Presence

Solange × Sault

What does it mean to exist fully in a world that often refuses to see you? Two albums that insist on presence, deliberate, cultural, communal. Quiet in delivery, immense in weight.

Lemonade · Blonde

Uncontained

Beyoncé × Frank Ocean

Two of the most celebrated albums of their generation — both refusing genre, structure, expectation. Personal to the point of myth. The evening where the music takes over the room completely.

I Put a Spell on You · Pastel Blues

In Her Voice

Nina Simone

The series closes with one of music's most singular presences. Two albums that hold fury, tenderness and transcendence without contradiction. An evening to end on, the way only Nina can close a room.

We are bringing people together with vibrant, immersive experiences for unforgettable moments.
