Sunset Sessions:
WHEN TWO GENERATIONS COLLIDED
Before streaming.
Before playlists.
Before social media.
There were albums.
Released just three years apart, Craig David's Born To Do It and Usher's My Way helped define a generation's relationship with R&B, UK garage and modern pop culture.
One captured the sound of Britain at the turn of the millennium.
The other helped establish a blueprint for contemporary R&B that continues to influence artists today.
Together, they represent a moment when music felt personal, exciting and full of possibility.
For one summer evening, we'll revisit both records in full, surrounded by great people, good food and the soundtrack of long summer nights.
THE ALBUMS
Released in 1997, My Way transformed Usher from rising talent into one of the most important voices in modern R&B.
Packed with confidence, vulnerability and timeless songwriting, the album introduced classics such as You Make Me Wanna..., Nice & Slow and My Way, helping define the sound of late-90s R&B.

Usher
Criag David
Released in 2000, Born To Do It became one of the defining British albums of its era.
Blending UK garage, R&B and pop, Craig David delivered a debut that felt fresh, youthful and unmistakably British. More than two decades later, tracks like Fill Me In, 7 Days and Walking Away remain woven into the soundtrack of a generation.
My Way
Born To Do It
Both albums arrived at pivotal moments.
One represented the future of British music.
The other helped shape the future of American R&B.
Together, they tell the story of two artists finding their voice and creating records that continue to resonate decades later.
At Sunset Sessions, we'll experience both albums the way they were intended to be heard: together, uninterrupted and surrounded by people who love music as much as you do.
